While I was a student at Notre Dame I spent a semester studying in Dublin. While I was in Ireland I became enchanted by the country’s unique pub culture. I was intrigued to see that the local public house was much more than just a place to get a pint and a bite to eat. It was the neighborhood gathering place for everything and everyone – regardless of age. In 2004, I opened the first McNellie’s in Tulsa. Now, four years later, I’ve opened McNellie’s in Oklahoma City. Both pubs feature menus with fresh, reasonably priced food and an atmosphere that is ideal for everyone – including families with young children. In addition, the pubs have a great selection of hard-to-find draught and bottled beers (350 at last count), plus great collections of single malt scotches.
