Officially, the first restaurant of Robata Jinya opened in 2006. But, in his mind, Mr. Takahashi, the founder/CEO, believes the concept of Jinya dates back to a few decades when his father started "Kappo Musashi", or traditional Japanese restaurant in Ehime, Japan, some 40 years ago. There he learned about chef, food quality and menu, customer service and many more.

Prior to the opening of Robata Jinya, Japanese izakaya- style restaurant, he opened "Sabakuro Ebisu" in Ebisu, Tokyo in 2000. Mr. Takahashi established the present restaurant operation and menu through his experience with this first restaurant.

In 2001,he opened another izakaya restaurant " Sabakuro NO2" in Nishiazabu, Tokyo. The third one opened in 2003.

Between 2006 and 2008, Mr. Takahashi opened 4 additional izakaya-style restaurants in Tokyo, and that's when he started using " Robata Jinya" for its brand name.

In 2008, he established an American corporation and opened "Robata Jinya" in Hollywood, which was the dream he cherished for so many years. And, the rest is a history.
