The Pennant Bar

A legendary South Mission Beach neighborhood bar, The Pennant is a great stop after a day in the sun. Say hello to Electric Charlie in the floor level bar and Robert Bullett (who makes NFL football predictions in Beach & Bay Press each fall) in the upstairs, outdoor upperdeck. A whole cast of colorful bartenders serve an equally colorful clientele. At this super-mellow beach bar you’ll still get the same great service locals have been enjoying since 1962. Owner Dick Kovalcheck describes the Pennant’s decor as consisting of “various types of bar stools, few of them matching.
