Clyde's of Georgetown

The original legendary saloon that started it all. Ever since joining the neighborhood in 1963, Clyde’s has become a favorite among residents of Northwest Washington and helped to transform M St. from a row of dimly lit watering holes to the commercial destination it is today. There were two things that became sacred to Clyde’s: their original oak bar and great food. The quality of Clyde’s menu as well as the preparation of its dishes set Clyde’s apart as the Georgetown saloon soon became famous for its burgers, zesty chili and Sunday brunch. To keep our flagship a favorite among its loyal patrons, the property underwent a decorative makeover in 1996 where cozy booth seating, a lovely French limestone fireplace and antique aircraft and sporting memorabilia gave “the original” a fresh face.
