8th Street Wine Cellar

8th Street Winecellar is the brainchild, dream and literally the blood, sweat and tears of Michael Lagnese and Johnny Cohen, two well loved veteran bartenders from the legendary Union Square Cafe. Don't let the winecellar name fool you though. While they certainly love their wine, they also love their martini and you can have one from their full bar. They also love a good artisan bottled beer. A few steps down from the street provides a natrually private hideaway for the warm and intimate atmosphere that lends itself perfectly for a comfortable, cozy spot to enjoy some wonderful boutique wines and share small plates of cheeses, meats, oysters or even pigs in a blanket from the kitchen. Located just below 8th Street also provides their motto, "winecellar isn't the place you can drink yourself under the table because you are already under the floor".
