The Phoenix, Fresno’s Bear Bar, is located at 4538 East Belmont Avenue in Fresno, CA—the same place that used to be The Den. We are a laid-back, no-attitude full-service bar serving not just the Bear Community but the entire gay community of the Central Valley. We are open every day of the year from 4:00pm ’til 2:00am with happy hour until 8:00pm every single day. The Phoenix is owned and operated by Bryan Beckstrand and his partner, Karl Jensen. We’re proud to be part of Fresno and California. So much so, we carry the most locally-made beer of any gay bar in Fresno! We offer two locally-brewed beers on tap: “Tamarack” (a Märzen Style Amber Lager) from the Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Company in downtown Fresno, and “805” (an American Blonde Ale) from Firestone Walker in Paso Robles, CA. In bottles, we have Tioga-Sequoia’s “General Sherman IPA” (an American IPA), “Half Dome California Wheat” (a Witbier), and “Golden 99” (A Honey Golden Ale) for you, too.
