Profile
he Bayou Bar & Grill was established in 1987, by local Chef Michael Cahal, formally trained under Chef Paul Prudhomme of K-Paul’s, New Orleans. Chef Cahal wanted to bring a neighborhood bar & grill from The Big Easy to heart of Overton Square. In 1994, The Bayou was purchased by current owners Bill & Carla Baker with partners Charlie Miller & Clay Allen. In 2008, The Bayou moved across Madison Ave. to its current location at 2094 Madison, once known as The Mississippi River Company; one of the Square’s first restaurants. Now in a much larger, renovated location, The Bayou continues to offer New Orleans style, Cajun specialties like Muffalettas, Po-Boys, Jambalaya, Gumbo, Oysters, Etouffee, Red Beans & Rice, and much more! Not only is The Bayou the place to eat great Cajun food inside or outside on the patio, The Bayou Bar & Grill is Midtown’s only true sports bar. Catch your favorite team or game on one of our seven HD TVs or on one of our two 120″ HD projector screens the biggest, clearest way to watch your team in the city!
