The Diller Room is in the old (very old) Diller Hotel. The place plainly does not care whether it's fashionable or not, but the hotel’s original wallpaper, a Swarovski chandelier, golden velvet wing chairs, and a wall of two dozen beveled mirrors mesh in a way that just feels right. Husband-and-wife team Rob Wilson and Josie Sassano Wilson own the bar, half of which used to be Stella Caffe (espresso devotees, fear not—the Diller Room still serves coffee) before they converted the cafe into more bar. Rob Wilson hastens to point out that the bar serves a "pronounced anti-douchebag" clientele: “It’s like a neighborhood pub… it’s wholesome, with a lot of regulars.” Also: housemade pizza and a few small plates.
