Profile
The land was once a hunting ground for Chumash Indians and later neighbor to a stagecoach stop and café. In those days a round trip between Santa Barbara and Glendale in a rainy season could take more than five weeks. Outlaws roamed the area, lured by the prospect of well-heeled travelers and valuable freight. In more modern times, The Adobe Cantina has gone from being an office for a chicken ranch in the 1950’s to a home for workers at nearby Whizin’s shopping center. Since 1986 a succession of businesses have leased the site. The Adobe Cantina has been a full-fledged restaurant since 1997.
