My management style is best described in three simple words: Seamless, subtle and sincere.” A native Portlander, Sage attended Lincoln High School and before heading south to California where he earned a B.A. in English from UC Berkley. Such achievements are always deserving of great party and his graduation party was no exception. The place? Trader’s Vic’s flagship location in Emeryville, California, where Sage and his guests lifted Mai Tais in honor of the special occasion. Sage later went on to graduate from the Western Culinary Institute in Portland.Sage’s career spans over a decade in the Portland restaurant scene here he has worked at some of Portland’s best-known eateries: Harborside, McCormick’s Fish House at McCormick & Schmick’s among them. In 2005 Sage accepted a position at the Daily Grill where he served as General Manager before being recruited by the just-opening Trader Vic’s Portland. As the face of dining establishment, Sage runs the overall operation of the restaurant doing everything from managing staff schedules to greeting guests in one of Portland’s most festive dining atmospheres. Sage and his wife Leigh, daughters Kelsey and Kaitlin, and two dogs all live in Southwest Portland. In his spare time Sage attends his daughter’s soccer games and indulge
