Barbounia’s new menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine with evident inspirations from several European cultures. Hints of Greece are found in the traditional Mezze– tzatsiki and several other spreads, served with Naon’s famous flat bread–which has acquired a cult-like following. South of Italy shines through during lunch featuring a Mushroom & Asparagus Pizza topped with parmesan, fontina, & truffle oil, hot from the taboon; while the Mushroom Gnocchi is an Italian-inspired entree for the evening. The Grass-fed hanger steak “au poivre” served during dinner and the Croque Madame sandwich served with sunny side up eggs during brunch, has unmistakable ties to the South of France.
